About Patty O’Flynn

+++-I am a math instructor with a personal passion for interactive technology in the classroom. I have taught all levels of mathematics in grades 8-12, and I currently teach Advanced Algebra, Pre Calculus, and AP Calculus at Woodland High School

Technology Grants

I have participated in several technology grants through the years including:

  • 2000-2001 TELDEC for the One-Computer Classroom
  • 2002-2003 Teacher Leadership Project (Gates Grant)
  • 2005-2006 Sustainable Classroom Grant

This year, I have received a 2007 Best Buy Teach Award and a 2007 Qwest Foundation Learning Technology Grant in order to expand student use of interactive technology in the classroom in order to increase learning. Both of these grants will be used to expand our mathcast project next year – by the end of 2008, half the math students at WHS will have created mathcasts of their work.

  1. Dear Patty,
I have found your blog and see that you post very useful and interesting information here. I was trying to find way to contact you, so I’m leaving comment here. I think a lot of people might read it, so I decided to make an offer to you. I would like to place a job advertisement at your blog. If this is possible, how much will be your price?
Please, respond if you agree to cooperate.

    Sincerely,
    Victory Akkert

  2. Dear Patty,

I work for Wolfram Research and am looking at how teachers view the use of Wolfram|Alpha in the classroom. The Chronicles of Higher Education recently had an article about this. If you have used Wolfram|Alpha or have any thoughts on it, I would love to hear from you.
